Antonia Lofaso
Antonia's Lofaso invites you discover her worldview by the food she cooks. The food she serves evokes interest that was born from the moment she stepped outside the suburbs of Long Island and into the multi-cultural landscape that is Los Angeles. Carnitas, Cavatelli and other dishes can all coexist within a menu. It is an ever evolving taste. The only thing that remains is her unique vision of the future while still wishing to reminisce about the past. Motivated by her American-born Italian heritage, Lofaso opened Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 that was immediately a hit. Lofaso's rendition of old school Italian cuisine is one of Los Angeles's most popular restaurants. Lofaso consistently serves excellent meals at Scopa it is a local favorite. Its patrons describe it as authentic and satisfying. Lofaso worked under culinary greats to master their methods. But she didn't hesitate to make extraordinary decisions in order to follow her intuition. In a short time her career, she was at the top of Wolfgang Puck's Spago. Later she worked with a variety of famous people while transforming various Los Angeles restaurants. Lofaso along with Sal Aurora partnered in 2011 to create Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City. Black Market has no one direction in mind and is the same way. It could start with Dill chips and then Shishitos peppers. Following that is the Korean wing and finally a meatball course. Antonia provides the overwhelming range of flavours. Lofaso measured her professional success by her capacity to be able to comprehend and appear genuine to her audience. The Top Chef Chicago episode and Top Chef: All Stars demonstrated her capability to communicate herself outside the cooking environment.
