Anamaria Marinca, born in Romania, is an actress. She received an award called the British Academy Television Award of Best Actress in the Channel 4 Film Sex Traffic. She speaks fluently French, German English, as well as Romanian. Her father is a theatre professor at one of the best Romanian drama schools. The young Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. In 2008 The European Film Promotion Board recognized her as a European Shooting Star. In addition to her stellar performance in the film, Anamaria Marinca will be remembered by the character she played in Romanian artist-directed film 4 Months 3, Weeks 2, Days. This film won several distinctions, among them the European Film Award Best Actress given by the The London Film Critics. In 2007, she starred on the Romanian film 4 luni 3 weeks si2 (4 Months, 3 Weeks 3 Weeks, 3 Weeks, 2 Days) which was directed by Cristian Mungiu (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days). The film was awarded two prizes at the Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize from the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). In addition, she appeared as an infant in Francis Ford Coppola's Youth Without Youth. In 2008, Marinca played Yasim in BBC's five-episode The Last Enemy. Marinca was also a part of Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. Later, she had a major role in the 2014 film Fury in which she played the role of a German woman named Irma aunt of Emma.
